Our Story
Shropshire Revolution
The Beginning
Shropshire Revolution American Football team was formed in January 2006 by a group of enthusiastic fans who connected through the NFLUK website forum. What started as a small gathering of seven players in the Town Park Bowl on January 21, 2006, quickly grew into a full-fledged team with a dedicated management structure.
Initially considering flag football, the team's rapid growth and media attention from BBC Local Television, BBC Radio Shropshire, the Shropshire Star newspaper, and Beacon Radio propelled them towards kitted league football.
Early Victories
The team's application for membership was successful, and on July 2, 2006, the Shropshire Revolution was granted associate membership of the British American Football League.
The Revolution's first game took place on October 1, 2006. In front of an enthusiastic crowd of around 200 people, the team secured a decisive victory against the Lincolnshire Bombers, winning 30-6. This impressive debut was followed by the team's first away game on October 15, where they defeated the Leicester Falcons 28-14.
Continuing their winning streak, the Revolution faced the Leicester Falcons again on October 28 in a home game, emerging victorious with a commanding 29-0 shutout.
